the argument is rather obviously that in the AI optimist scenario nobody can be an engineer because Jev took all the jebs but I think it would have been less prone to misogyny interpretations if it did not involve a daughter.

I also think the thrust is that the "optimistic" scenario is only good when compared with extinction (typical Yudkowskian gloom), & that it's misogynist in a conservative "sex work is the worst thing that could happen to a woman" way

Sex work. I think, ostensibly, the idea is that both outcomes are Bad, but the fact that Yud's brain can't imagine any outcome for women beyond "sex worker" says a lot more about him than anything else.

The optimistic view is that all work in the future will be done by Ai, controlled by a small group of people. We commoners will be unemployed and starve to death unless we're lucky enough to become a sex worker favoured by those AI people. To be clear, Yud himself thinks the future will be worse
