Yeah unfortunately for them a lot of those events are run and staffed by queers (especially queer women) who have very little tolerance for skeevy cishet 25 year old men.

The last time I attended the area had just started rapid turnover into hella expensive condos, and I remember wondering whether the realtors would actually disclose or whether the fair was going to end up fighting for its life against prudish new residents, glad that doesn’t seem to have happened

Yeah, there’s a couple board game cafes in Toronto with bulletin boards for people looking to meet other game enthusiasts, there’s probably at least one in the Bay Area and it would be a good place to look for LEGO buddies

Legoland discovery centres also have adult events on a periodic basis. Normally you’ll get turned away if you show up there without a kid though, so be sure you confirm ahead of time that you’ll get in
