Coercion is ubiquitous anywhere the rewards, money, influence are hoarded by a tiny elite. In SV it’s people connected to the VCs, in entertainment execs, producers, etc. These structures exist to reproduce power. The cultishness arises out pf pressure to be part of the “in” group.
