Okay, tangential to the sex/consent stuff, but if lots of these folks are "expanding their consciousnesses" I can very much understand the paranoid apocalypticism they are developing about their work.

Yeah one of the many lessons here - which should have been learned long ago - is that no psychedelic has an inherent valence or direction towards good or towards enlightenment. The experiences are powerfully shaped by the social environment and conceptual landscape & can be quite destructive
