Oh yeah I've seen that in sci-fi spaces and these are the same dudes. They looooove "casual nudity" too.
That idea that kissing is right out but massage is okay is a big red flag for me. I've encountered that massage culture in science fiction spaces (there is a distinct overlap) and it is often intensely creepy and a prelude to groping, plus there's hostility towards those who reject it.
