So you slow, drop the pick. Pay out minimum cable. Enough so you are at a ‘short stay’. Then proceed slow ahead. It seems the bottom is sand and shale so fairly easy, with decent GPS, to drag the anchor using minimum revs.

Charts are clearly marked. Any ship ‘accidentally’ letting anchor go (it wouldn’t happen) would immediately go astern but probably lose the anchor at a lugless joining shackle. Other option is she put divers over the side but….nah.

You don’t ’accidently’ drop an anchor. They have various ‘preventers’ on them that act as triple redundancy. Her distance over ground plot is pretty .
